Miles Straume

Miles Straume emerges from the shadows of his father's legacy, Pierre Chang, and navigates a life steeped in loss and supernatural intrigue. Born in March 1977 in Encino, California, to single mother Lara Chang, he grew up resenting his absent father. His upbringing was marked by a tragic event which granted him the unusual ability to communicate with the dead, a gift he learned to exploit while grappling with feelings of isolation.

Miles’s life offers a cocktail of sardonic humor and emotional complexity as he moves through the chaos of life on the mysterious island. He joined the crew of the Kahana with a dual purpose of seeking monetary gain and understanding his lineage. Contrarily, his sharp wit and dry humor mask a vulnerability that emerges as he confronts his familial ties, particularly with his estranged father, whose presence continuously haunts him.
