This one-time U.S. Navy training center has about 50 galleries and museums, including the San Diego Comic Art Gallery and Women’s Museum of California.
Don’t miss the cool nautical vibe of Shelter Island. Shoreline Park is great for picnics and views of the downtown skyline. Stroll along the park’s promenade to see the fishing-inspired Tunaman’s Memorial and Friendship Bell, which commemorates the amity between San Diego and Yokohama.
