James Bond's shoes aren't ever the focal point of the movie, but they always seem to catch the eye. Here we explore some of the shoes worn by the international man of mystery.

Spectre (2015)

In Spectre, Bond is shown wearing a pair of Crockett & Jones Cavendish loafers. These are classic men's shoe that can be worn with a variety of different looks. The message that the designers are trying to convey with this choice is that Bond is a sophisticated man who knows how to dress for any occasion.

Skyfall (2012)

In Skyfall, we see Bond wearing a pair of John Lobb Willingdon Derbies. Derbies are a more formal type of shoe that is usually reserved for special occasions. The message that the designers were trying to convey with this choice is that Bond is a man who takes his job very seriously and always looks his best. As Bond is on Her Majesty's payroll, the actual brand of shoes he wears tend to be outside the average Joe's price range - upwards of $500. We've chosen some more affordable options for those of us that have other bills to pay.

Quantum of Solace (2008)

Next, we have Quantum of Solace which shows us Bond in a pair of Tom Ford Richard Loafers. This was a controversial choice because many felt that loafers were too casual for James Bond. The message that the designers were trying to convey with this choice is that even though Bond is a sophisticated man, he is still approachable and down-to-earth.

You Only Live Twice (1967)

The fifth movie sees James Bond (played by Sean Connery) wearing a pair of black monk straps. These shoes are elegant and stylish, which helps create an image of James Bond as a suave ladies' man. This image is further conveyed by the fact that much of the action takes place in Japan, where Bond goes undercover as a Japanese businessman.

Thunderball (1965)

By the fourth movie, we see James Bond (played by Sean Connery) wearing a pair of white banker's shoes. These shoes are a departure from the practical shoes worn in previous films and are instead meant to convey a level of sophistication and wealth. This makes sense given that much of the action in this film takes place in the Bahamas.

Goldfinger (1964)

The third movie in the series sees James Bond (played by Sean Connery) sporting a pair of black Oxfords. The choice of shoe is once again practical, as most of the film takes place in Switzerland. The black Oxfords help create a look that is both stylish and serious, which is perfect for a character who needs to be taken seriously by his enemies.

From Russia with Love (1963)

In the second movie of the franchise, we see Sean Connery donning a pair of brown loafers. These shoes are practical and grounded, which makes sense given that most of the action in this film takes place in Turkey and Italy. The brown loafers also convey a level of sophistication that is befitting of James Bond.
