Villa del Balbianello is a stunning villa located in that has been featured in both Casino Royale and Star Wars II. It was originally built for Cardinal Angelo Maria Durini at the end of the 18th century and its distinctive design makes it one of the most recognizable landmarks on Lake Como. The villa stands atop a steep promontory with breathtaking views that overlook Bellagio from across the lake.

The interior of Villa del Balbianello is equally impressive and features an array of Chinese, African, and Pre-Colombian art objects as well as pieces of furniture from the 1700s. There is even a small museum filled with documents and mementos from the explorer Guido Monzino’s expeditions which adds to its overall charm.
